Bali with toddlers: choose your locations and accommodations wisely

If you’re planning a Bali trip with a toddler make sure you choose your locations and accommodations wisely. Not all areas in Bali are suitable for toddlers. Nusa Dua makes a very good location for families with small kids, since the beaches and waters are calm. Sanur is also a very good option for a Bali family holiday. Traveling around the island can be a bit of challenge as it’s difficult to walk the streets with a stroller but a lot of it is mindset as well. We did some really nice rice field trekkings with a baby carrier and that went perfectly for hikes up to maximum 2,5 hours in the early morning when the sun wasn’t at it’s hottest yet. When you hire a car with driver for a day, you can explore some of the inland areas. It’s easy to book a nice villa with pool or book a room in a hotel with a pool where you can enjoy the afternoons playing in the water. A good thing to realize is that there are not many parks in Bali. Some of the sights, like the water palace in the east, have nice areas where you can set up a picknick but mainly you’re depending on restaurants/warungs when traveling inlands.
