Helicopter Food Safari

Bali Food Safari has launched Indonesia’s first-ever VIP culinary tourism experience by air to showcase luxury dining options in  Bali and to assist in  promoting Bali as one of the world’s leading culinary destinations.

Best known for our exclusive mystery progressive dining tours, we have now created a new high-end food tourism product to captivate the interest of high-value tourists by air. Fine dining helicopter packages are now allowing tourists to take part in a VIP experience by immersing themselves in a mystery progressive-style journey of mouth-watering gastronomy set against sweeping coastal views or over iconic cultural sites whilst being transported in luxury by helicopter from one fine dining establishment to another.

Simon Ward, founder of Bali Food Safari, says, “…there is absolutely no better way to spoil your loved ones or VIP guests by taking them by air to the island’s most sophisticated restaurants and luxury locations that are truly shaping Bali as an international culinary destination. It is a wonderful way to explore some of the islands world renowned  dining destinations and to create truly unforgettable moments while getting to know Bali through its amazing cuisine, unique culture and unbeatable hospitality.”

Ward adds, “… Bali continues to be one of the world’s most famous tourist destinations. Over the years, the team at Bali Food Safari have received increasing interest from affluent yet time-poor travellers who want to explore Balinese culture and cuisine.. These patrons want to participate in a highly exclusive experience and indulge in a slice of the best cuisine and views from exotic luxury beach resorts, all within in a limited time frame. These new packages have been curated in response to this demand and we hope it will play a small part in boosting economic growth within the local tourism sector.”

Packages are inclusive of bespoke paired menus and are based on visiting 3 to 4 pre-selected “mystery” eateries that offer 9-12 signature sample plates, over the course of 4-6 hours, from two departure points (Seminyak and Jimbaran). Each tour offers generous flight times to ensure that guests may be swept away by the breathtaking scenic views between each dining location, these packages can be customised to meet the specific needs of each touring party.

Prices are inclusive of all meals and drinks that form part of the specially designed menus for each flight package. All meals feature quality seasonal produce prepared by some of the worlds best chefs. All other operational costs including hotel transfers, landing and facility fees, wait times for pilot and hosts during courses, local taxes and in-flight refreshments  are all covered in the price.

Each appetising flight can accommodate between 2 and 4 guests, plus local host and fully qualified pilot, to create an enjoyable yet intimate dining experience. Our knowledgeable in-flight hosts offer fascinating facts about local produce and exotic delicacies and  are happy to share a little a bit about Balinese history and culture with diners, all within the safety of their luxury aircraft. Opportunities are available for guests to engage in ‘table talks’ with executive chefs, restaurateurs or sommeliers to learn more about local produce incorporated into regional and international cuisine in the most spectacular surroundings, all included as part of this ‘money-can’t-buy’ “foodie” experience.

As one customer mentioned during a soft-launch tour, “We’ve visited Bali on many occasions and have feasted at a number of internationally-recognised eateries, but it’s really only through this tour that you can dine at the island’s most sought-after dining establishments and be treated like an A- lister.. It was thrilling and exciting to be whisked away between each course together with our personal host and travel via luxury aircraft, landing at private helicopter pads, throughout the entire day. Most importantly, the artistically-plated meals were absolutely mind- blowing, they would easily meet Michelin Star standards.”
